Interesting take on a tried and true literary trope. Wish the author delved a little more into the history behind the motivations of the Tower and why it turned on its occupants. The ending was also a little too tidy for my liking. Main characters survive but there guardian angel decides to stay put, which means the story is set up for a sequel. But honestly why...would be hard pressed to read another book in this series if it came out.Decent read, no real chills, minor grammatical errors/editing towards the end. Read it or don't it's your call.

The Tower Simon Clark 9780843954920 Books Reviews
Completely forgettable story. No atmosphere. Not scary.
not a bad supernatural thriller
The Tower is my favorite Simon Clark novel by far. Well, that's not really the best way to put it. It is the only Simon Clark novel I even like but I like it quite a lot. Maybe I'm a bit biased because the main characters are members in a rock group and I can relate to them, but it has a different feel than the other Clark books I've read. It is, quite simply, yet another house story. All right, haunted tower story. The band become its house-sitters, and plan on using it to get some new material written and practice, but the Tower apparently doesn't enjoy their music because...well you'll have to read it for yourselves. Maybe I'm the crazy one because, as of May 2011, the Tower has an average rating of 2.9. I don't get that when a novel as mediocre as Blood Crazy earned itself a 4.11. Oh well, I recommend the Tower for horror fans.
Loved it was very hard to put down. Ended about the way I figured, a small twist. I would recommend this to others who like thriller s.
I actually read the Tower without reading the bad reviews I always give the author a chance to write first then I give my reviews I loved this Book before you read the reviews read the book we all have things that we like or Don't like. Give Simon Clark a chance I am glad I did
I wasn't expecting this book to captivate me as thoroughly as it did. If you like a really good horror novel, then "The Tower" is for you! Have you ever had nightmares of your own death? Do you believe objects and houses can hold onto the energy of past events? Would you and a group of friends house-sit an ancient manor miles from civilization? Then enter "The Tower"; if you dare!
I don't know if it's just me but once in a while I come across a book that I can't seem to get a grasp on so I have to reread it. This is one of those books. It's not that I didn't understand it, it's more like there's a big gap of missing information and without it the book itself was lacking something. That's why I gave it three stars. I'll probably have to read it a second time to evaluate it. It has a good storyline for sure but like I said, missing something. Maybe some other supernatural readers out there can enjoy it better.
