The True Love Wedding Dress Catherine Anderson Connie Brockway Casey Claybourne Barbara Metzger 9780451411990 Books
THE TRUE LOVE WEDDING DRESS is an anthology containing four historical romance novellas and was released in 2005. I originally bought this book simply for the Catherine Anderson tale which is part of her "Keegan/Paxton" series. The fact that Connie Brockway (who I've read about a half dozen stories by) had one in this collection was an added bonus. I only planned on reading those two, but then I thought all the stories were connected so I ended up reading all four. Well, they're not really related by kinship or anything like that, only the mysterious wedding dress links them together. Three of the stories I loved, but most especially the one by Ms. Brockway. I did not like the one by Barbara Metzger at all though. It's the first story and unless you're a fan of hers or feel you really need to, I'd recommend skipping it.A PERFECT FIT by Barbara Metzger - 2 STARS**
Though I've heard of Ms. Metzger, this was my first time reading anything by her and I was not impressed. I basically found this novella boring and thought there were way too many people in it for such a short story. The hero and heroine are rarely in any scenes together and though Katie was okay and I liked Forde, neither were developed enough for me to truly care about. There's an instant attraction between the two, but no passion or chemistry whatsoever. A mediocre kiss is all you'll get and overall it fell entirely short of true love, a facet of which I didn't buy for one second. It's only real redeeming quality was Forde's quirky sense of humor.
GLAD RAGS by Connie Brockway - 5 STARS*****
Alex and Lucy had a long courtship before pride and misunderstandings separated them from each other for two long years. Now Alex is back from the war, and neither can deny the love they still carry for the other. The fact that this couple had a history made their romance and the true love theme much more believable. Both of them were funny, spirited, and quite lovable too. This actually had me laughing and even made me cry a little at one point. The lone love scene was very sexy, and everything was beautifully written. Ms. Brockway threw in a unique and surprising twist with the wedding dress, and I absolutely loved every second of it!
SOMETHING SPECIAL by Casey Claybourne - 4 STARS****
This was actually a really lovely and sweet story which features Eliza, an eleven-year-old, mischievous, and adorable little imp. She's trying to play matchmaker for her widowed father and so she orders up a governess while he's away on business. Neither Penny nor Josh are amused however, and they make plans to send Penny back to where she came from. But then Josh becomes ill and Penny nurses him back to health. In between they both fall in love and all three are gifted with the family and future they've always dreamed about. Although not the most realistic of romances, it was a really quick read and delightfully cute nonetheless.
BEAUTIFUL GIFTS by Catherine Anderson - 4 STARS****
This story features Faith and her daughter Charity, who are on the run from Faith's wealthy and greedy father. She takes on the job as housekeeper for Patrick O'Shannessy, though she's in no way qualified to do so. Over one months time he teaches her what she needs to know, they become friends, and fall deeply in love. Although they are as different as night and day, they are everything the other needs. I admit I may be somewhat biased because I had already met and loved Patrick in "Keegan's Lady" and was overjoyed to see everyone from that story again. I've been re-reading this entire series and look forward to "Summer Breeze" next.

The True Love Wedding Dress Catherine Anderson Connie Brockway Casey Claybourne Barbara Metzger 9780451411990 Books Reviews
Beautiful true love stories!
This is one of the most disappointing books I have read. Catherine Anderson writes better than this with other authors.
A magical STORY, suspend your reality and enjoy. The book is by several different authors. I thought that the stories might not blend. They do!! If you love romance, you'll definitively, Will find it here.
Even though I usually don't go in for anthologies because this one had Catherine Anderson as one of it's authors i tried it. It was very good for the most part. The story by Anderson was a tie in to the Keegan/Paxton series. I would reccomend this book to anyone. I got it as a E book for my computer. Now if only I could find the last book of the Paxtons about Esa, i would be very happy.
I really enjoyed the stories and the concept of this book. There were a few homonyms. And, for all you romance writers, whether now or in the future PRONE means FACE DOWN.
I read this so long ago that I don't even remember it but I think I liked it. I gave it away a long time ago so I cannot even go back and look at it again.
this book was interesting I liked it because of the different stories to read but then the story
at the end from Catherine Anderson led you to believe in another story but it gave no title in which to follow thru with...
I was disappointed with that because I love C A Books.
I would reccomend because of the Love stories about the dress
